Deepin is based on Debian unstable, which isnt a bad thing, as Debian is
always stable and reliable. Deepin is one of the most beautiful
distros out there but they also add a lot more functions and with it
sometimes odd things doesnt really work correctly for a short while,
like i know someone had a problem that the wifi just dropped after after
several reboots it just started to work, and when it was deepin 15.4
beta they did some much but graphics for other languages beside from
english just crashed, and it took them a few weeks to short it out, but
they did. but as stock deepin is a rolling release errors like it might
come but they fix it and yo will get the updates and everything just
improves. stock deepin has also great functions which the other version
of deepin distros does not have yet. like their amazing software
center, and also a license copy of crossover, which makes it easy to
install many well known windows programs, all other distros asks 40
dollars for it.
Deepin Ubuntu, ubuntu is a very stable and well known distro, currently it only runs on the latest version of ubuntu, which is a nine months release version, but it is super easy to upgrade to the next version of ubuntu in april 2018, which is a 5 year support version. deepin just came to ubuntu so i think this next few months is like a beta where they will fix bugs for the 5 years release, as i say upgrading for ubuntu and deepin will be easy. but for now you will get like a mixture of apps between deepin and ubuntu. also in ubuntu you get like the ppa, deepin source which will give you the latest. i havent tried the manjora one yet, but similar in my eyes.
In ubuntu there are also a lot of software and tutorials out as it is currently more used than deepin, and many companies makes software only for ubuntu, likes ppas to get the latest version via updates for libreoffice for example. so yes.
